I would thing quite the opposite concerning removing spirits meaning that cursed techniques would not exist. Curses are born from the negative emotions of humans, they have cursed energy but can't control it so it leaks and concentrates as cursed spirits. Sorcerers are in control of their cursed energy, so it doesn't leak, and doesn't create curses. The only way for a sorcerer to create a curse is if they die by non cursed energy means, like being stabbed by a human.

In my mind there are two ways to remove curses, either make everyone a sorcerer, or somehow remove negative emotions from all humans, the former is the simplest in my mind. And seeing that the simurians are planning to use Mahito's cursed technique, which was also a part of Geto's plan, I'm leaning for the former.
