It's in the chapters last season bro, just reread. Technically, as far as I remember, Corin's teacher is three people: herself, the chairman and the one who fought alone to save that city (I'll call them the martyr for this)

The martyr was only alive because of the contract she made with the grim reaper to save the city. However, she's more of a "past" version of Corin's teacher, who split herself into a kind of clone so she could keep moving forward without needing to leave everything behind without saving anyone. Naturally, after Corin cleared her curse, 'she' finally died, the city was cleansed and the original regained her memories of that time.

The chairman is also another clone Corin's teacher made for the purpose of keeping the school running (to train people who can fight or at least defend against Balthazar later) and also to serve as a puppet disguise while she recovered from their fight. Unfortunately, that also meant that if the clone gets hurt, then it affects the original as well.

(Take everything I've just said with consideration though. Just reread the story, please.)
