People been whining the last few chapters I imagine, but really it's just the author doing a good job of confusing you in to wondering whether the good guys really are the good guys at first. Evil isn't always easy to tell at a glance, until they rear their ugly head. You gotta stay vigilant and understand that people don't show their true colours right off the bat.
