By far one of the best rom-com I've ever read! The mc, Kuze is not a loser and have talents that he only use when it's necessary. Plus he got pretty decent looks as well. But what I love the most about Kuze is that he's not a pussy and have at least some ego. As for Alya, she is a Tsundere who got incredible skills and beautiful looks. So overall, the story's good, very sweet/cute, and as well as for the art-style too. I highly recommend you to read it if you want diabetes ;)

The creator/author is intentionally making you hate on Kazuya lol. I can tell from the start. But tbh, the creator is going too far for letting you hate on him which is no surprise because the author himself, Reiji is extremely down-bad for Chizuru to the point where he draws her and put her into real life photos with him, bringing Chizuru's massive 3d model to a mall with him and stuff. REMEMBER GUYS, Reiji literally have wife and kids so I find it pretty weird lol

Forgot to mention that the writing is very shit. The story does not tell us what time period this is which makes it very confusing to read because at first, it looks like a modern society but then suddenly, it moved to some random medieval-fantasy like time wtf. No or barely any character development, overused plot, and just some stupid useless horse shit that's not worth your time to read. Just don't read this bullshit.

And you're right, the history part is extremely boring and kind of annoying to the point where I had the same feelings of yours, making a separate version where they talk about the history part. That part should be shortened or summarize instead of making 2 VOLUMES of the history part because I ain't for some Japanese history lesson, I am here for the romance and stuff. (Yes, I bought 20 volumes of Fly Me To The Moon). The anime is very good in my opinion and also the second opening is a banger as well! The manga would be a 10/10 for me IF they summarized the history part and include the spicyness of Tsukasa and Nasa's romance.

She did mention about falling in love with Saa-kun and in Kuze's memory, his childhood crush, the golden haired girl called Kuze Masaachika with the extra 'a' and afterwards they haven't met in a long time. But she's still in love with him, and Masha's boyfriend is claimed to be russian but Kuze knows Russian as well. As mentioned at the buzz cut boy's conversation. SO IN MY CONCLUSION, MASHA WAS KUZE'S CHILDHOOD CRUSH.
