I've red both the wn and ln; both the yonozuka station ruins and the bounty hunt interactions between akira and katsuya felt a little bit forced(cringe even). they never have to fight side by side in both of these quest in the wn.
the editor probably change the story to emphasize the rivalry between the two even though katsuya is the only one who see akira as a rival.
