I needed literally about 1 hour to learn all differences in pronunciation between German and Polish, like with that German sch sounds about the same as Polish sz, there are rules, only English and French are damn language-brothels. Italian or Spanish and almost any other language, like even Japanese (in latinizated form ofc) have latin as a base and only just couple of peculiar sounds, in Spanish such a distinctions are ll (that sounds close to j) or always silent h, in Japanese j and y are very distinctive, but it's actually super easy to learn how to pronunce everything if you are German or Polish in one day, despite Japan is on the other end of the world ;o
Those damned English and French, life could be much easier if they haven't complicated those matters ;/
(Tho Korean is in separate group, it's not brothel, it's according to rules, but sounds very different than our languages, at least couple days of learning to know how to spell all those long names).

I've noticed that not only in languages, but also in games Germany is in team with Poland (and at least entire East Europe, I'm not sure about South), US, UK and France are purely into action and sport games, while in our countries fantasy and strategic games have their lovers ;D

Wow, so Germans also kinda go in that direction? I mean, it's hard to REALLY pronunce a lot of English sounds like they should be pronounced, in Poland we basically say dis, de etc. but I think that in Eastern Slavic countries that difference, that gap between their pronouncietion and original, is damn big O.o
On other hand in German "z" is more like "c" in Slavic languages or soft C in ecclesiastical Latin, so it's actually quite hard to avoid misunderstandings. Would be easier if I had experience with encounters with German people, but despite spending most of my life about 40km from German border, I've never really met any Germans ;o
But it's still intriguing for me, whether there are some similarities between German and accents of Eastern Slavic people...
