honestly, the academy wants monsters, and it is unlikely a team of three would be made up of monsters. him carrying his teammates would be a disservice to them. they will not have gone in with their power alone.

this test really is not all about points. conduct, character, intelligence, adaptability, selflessness, all of those are assessed. he clearly made a ruthless choice, for a child even. so they likely want to see how he acts given different scenarios.

before you guys call her a bitch, remember that the way the MC's character is written, he is supposed to be their age but he acts like a veteran of a 30 year war. it is out of balance. She acted her age, he did not and there is no real explanation for his behavior other than the contrivances of writing. keeping in mind there has been no explanation as to why he would act the way he does at all. All we know about him is that he was born from an egg and the suggestion he might be related to the other two, who don't even know who they themselves are. Sure she was naive a bit, and unreasonable to expect them to essentially carry her, but his behavior is probably more reprehensible.

on one hand, there is no way she was going to survive on her own. also, besides your teammates, everyone else is the enemy, but this development is kind of sour for the MC.
