As for the potential counter that i could think off in cases this get use against you:
1. Elbow the thigh if within reach.
2. Hit the abdomen or chest part.
3. Let your knees fall to the ground so your opponent back will fall too then proceed to counter.
4. Try to spin around then hit your opponent somewhere like a wall.

(In my opinion, In a real fight, we won't always be aiming for the head, we hit what we can reach)

Although it's cliche, it's interesting and i hope it stays that way...
