Seriously don't go into this expecting something cute and fluffy its so god damn intense. What the actual fuck.

The principality can control monsters because in this otome game world they needed a final boss for the game characters to fight with their love power.
And also its heavily implied that all the silly stuff that made up the otome games setting is actually a complex reminents of an ancient war torn civilization with way deeper implications than the game ever got into.

Complete extermination in a war is actually pretty difficult.

Quite grim.
Apparently only covers a part of the longer book series, but it ends after a complete arc and has the main characters walk off into the sunset so it feels complete in a way.
If you like kinda grimdark mangas you'll probably want to read this. Otherwise it's only okay. 6/10

Decent gag comedy with some decent character drama as well.

Well most people care at least somewhat about others. From good samaritans, to anti war rallies, to soup kitchens, and etc and etc.
Or at the very least they would struggle to kill someone for their first time. Its part of why so many soldiers get ptsd.
But Makoto largely doesn't sympathize with the suffering of others, which technically would be Antisocial Personality Disorder which is more or less equivilant to peoples understanding of what sociopathy is. Of course there's different levels of APD and I'm not a psychologist so I could be wrong, but its largely implied that Makoto is somewhere on that spectrum.
