That said, I'm vividly reminded of my first gf stealing & hiding my Elfen Lied DVD and this mangaka knew exactly the look I got when she confronted me months later for ever having any interest in my interests. Maybe a reader can enjoy this work free from internalized misogyny, I'm not him. I laughed too loudly, starling myself alone, at gags I relate to from poor choices and bad dynamics throughout my 20s.
