Answering ur question on how they can be damaging or destructive

The rate of consumption is quite high for such small creatures we could only imagine how much a sentient elephant or a blue whale could consume

Secondly the way they consume is through the synaptic gaps where the information from the brain goes to the body . The issue is when the have their fill they leave the victim with no memory of anything (voluntary and non voluntary actions which are done my the body it self autonomously)
As the victim becomes sort of a new born who can't operate it body, they become sort of brain dead well we are not sure if they can have any memory cus of the 97 victims we found only 1 was alive most victims died of suffocation as their bodies forgot how to use their lungs and how to blink how to talk
Now I hope u understand how brutal this way of consumption is.
