Like the comment below said, read City Hunter first before this. It's not a direct prequel but you'll know a lot of characters' personality and backstory from that manga so you can enjoy this one more. Also, if you know how to read Chinese you can search online for a complete Season 2.

It makes perfect sense! It must be related to the Tooth of Izanagi's Comb. Kanaka had the smaller one when she perished and a pillar of light happened after the guards left the scene. And Kamuado had the bigger one, she and her comrades probably perished too in that last fight and the bigger Tooth did something and their soul got captured. Then as for Suou, the story didn't mention anything about his soul so anything goes. Then it means that our boy Kazuya just can't catch a break. He's gonna witness his mother's death for the THIRD time?! And possibly the FOURTH time when he kills the dark Kanaka again in the future! Poor Kazuya 😢
