I'm gonna be honest, if I was the mom, I would want them to sell the painting especially if it meant that they could live a comfortable life. There seriously has to be other mementos left behind like a bracelet or something. Maybe it's just me but if there was this very much big easy option for the people I care about to be free from financial concerns by just selling a painting of me, I would be screaming from my grave for them to do so. Also, this is still going to paint a target on their backs due to the high value of the painting if they keep it. Just because one criminal was defeated doesn't mean that another won't attempt to get it.

  Bro, something someone loved when they were alive and something they just wore a few times. Which do you think is more symbolic to the family? Plus,it could be a guilt or multitude of other reasons for not selling the painting.
  But,even if they live like this now, in a few years when the girl grows up,she can decide on her own what to do with the painting. That could be a reason too.
  
  Anyways, what I was trying to say was let them live how they want.

  honestly if i were her and i saw their living conditions, i would be beyond furious that my daughter was living in poverty while sitting on a pile of money in the form of some silly painting. i mean jesus fuck its the 21st century, cameras exist. if they don't have even a single picture of her from before she died, can we really say they cared for her that much. fools acting like they live in the 17th century.

Also, the daughter's name is Ageha. I suddenly remember a manga about an insect alien girl. It is really cute and also horrifying. But the important part is that it is cute. Even if I know she is an insect alien girl who might feed on people, I can't help but hope for her happiness.

Yes, it does. Normally the chemical rush wears off after a time and they think things through IF they are smart. The reaction to run above all else (classic fight or flight), might be easier to understand as a biological reaction that exists on a similar level to the one where people whom see blood faint (near) instantly.

Extremely useful in overall species survival when everything is a predator (or just a gigantic Dinosaur). Not so much now in modern day now that nearly all that stuff has died and we actively try to keep most everything else that would qualify, alive. Humans have already killed most them off directly or destroyed the homes killing them indirectly.

Watched quite a few Roanoke Gaming videos on YouTube, He tends to reference the blood thing a fair bit and references the other parts on occasion. Helped my understanding a fair bit.
