I know it's his god's exclusive weapon, but MC didn't steal it, he earned it by doin' the quest while playin' the game. Dude's just feelin' guilty that someone else did it before he got around to it, and instead of admittin' it, he's tryin' to shift the blame onto someone else. Unfortunately for him, this time that someone else can kick his ass without breakin' a sweat, which means fun for us.

ShenanigansYeah, can't respond to the other guy because of the comment separation, but this is something a lot of people keep forgetting about this series; Ippo's fighting talent all together barely scrapes average.
He's got a strong body because he trained since childhood for it with the fishing, but that's literally all he's got. He's slow, fairly dense, he's not smart by most metrics. Kinda dumb on a regular basis, even. If it wasn't for the fishing training he'd be distinctly below average. He ain't gonna have a long career, not unless Coach levels up so hard he drags Ippo along for the ride.
Ippo's a story of a mediocre dude paired with a master-class Coach. It's not working out all that well.
