Ryoma Nagare, Hayato Jin, and Prof. Saotome pilot three specially designed combat jets, which can be combined together in different forms to form three different kinds of giant robots, Getter-1 (used for aerial combat), Getter-2 (for land-based conflicts), and Getter-3 (for undersea battles). They were assembled by Prof. Saotome and became Earth's first line of defense against the Dinosaur Empire, which is a civilization of reptile-like humanoids, who evolved from the now-extinct dinosaurs that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

The series was groundbreaking in the anime mecha genre: for the very first time, it introduced the concept of separate machines combining to form a super robot. Using three jets, Getter Robo could combine in three different ways to create three different versions of Getter Robo for different conditions and situations. This idea was originally discussed during the creation process for Mazinger Z (the first super robot to be piloted internally), but was dropped and then developed for Getter Robo.

After Emperor Gore and the Reptilian empire is defeated, a new enemy, Emperor Burai and his Hyakki empire rises and threatens to take over Earth. Ryoma, Hayato, and newcomer Benkei pilot the new Getter Robo G to save Earth.

Set in a post-Apocalyptic Earth, Hayato Jin continues to lead the Saotome Research Institute after the events of Getter Robo Go. He has succeeded Professor Saotome's masterpiece prototype, the Shin Getter Robo, with a more stable creation: Getter Robo Arc.

The Hybrid Insector (ハイブリッド·インセクター Haiburiddo Insekutā) is an unofficial dojinshi spin-off manga of the Showa Era Kamen Rider Series by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi (清水� �一×下口智裕 Shimizu Eiichi to Shimoguchi Tomohiro) (now famous for the ULTRAMAN and Linebarrels of Iron Manga). The manga would only publish nine chapters until Toei ordered a cease-and-desist for copyright violations

In ancient times, the King of Paroh is savagely murdered with his wife and servants in his castle by mercenaries from the Gohra army. Only his children, Prince Remus and his twin sister Princess Linda, managed to escape during the massacre in the surrounding forest. Quickly caught up by bloodthirsty murderers, they are saved by a strange-warrior with the face of a leopard. Suffering from amnesia, the mysterious savior only remembers his name: Guin. Twins explain him their situation and decide to help Guin hoping to learn more about its origins. On their way, they meet some allies including a young girl from an ape-people, a mage and a mercenary by the name of Isht Van. The small group will rally the tribes Sem and legendary giants, the Lagons, to expel the invaders and to avenge the massacre committed by Gohra.

Trepanation is the procedure of drilling a hole in the skull. It is said to increase the blood circulation and improve pressure inside the skull. It is also said to bring out a person's sixth sense, the ability to use ESP, see ghosts, move objects with one's mind. This is speculative fiction based on the concept of trepanation.

The world was plagued by Shocker, a mysterious terrorist organization. For its plan in world domination, Shocker recruited agents by kidnapping people, turning them into mutant cyborgs and, ultimately, brainwashing them. However, one of the victims was rescued just before the final step, and his name was Takeshi Hongo.

With his sanity and moral conscience remaining intact, Hongo became the grasshopper-looking, altered-human (改造人間, kaizou ningen) superhero Kamen Rider and battled Shocker with his newly acquired powers.

Maken XFrom Mangaupdates:A research laboratory in the international city Kanazawa. Kei Sagami, daughter of the chief of laboratory, Professor Hiromitsu Sagami, becomes a witness of an experiment - the awakening of a sword, the Maken. It's able to heal mental disorders, at least according to her father. But as strange foreigners forcibly break into the laboratory, kidnap her father and put the actual carrier of the sword out of action, she experiences the true meaning of the Maken first hand.

The great demon Mao Dante, exploiting the weakness of a boy exposed to his demonic influence in his dreams, is awakened from a thousand-year sleep. The intent of this being, a survivor of an ancient and forgotten civilization, is to wipe out the whole human race.
But it's not that simple: the motivations of the demon aren't so wicked as one might think, and they will combine with the life of the boy, which hangs between nightmares and craziness. In the meanwhile, the Satanists fight against the hierarchy of the church to obtain a justice which is, as it's easy to guess, that of the demon Mao.

This series didn't have an ending until its remake in 2002. Nagai took many ideas from Mao Dante into Devilman.
