The title story, “The Mermaid Prince,” told in three chapters, is a coming-of-age story set in Okinawa. The boy, Mugi, has a fascination with mermaids. He moved in from Tokyo when his sister got married to a local man, and doesn’t quite fit in. On the day he met the girl, Madori, she was just coming to terms with her new family situation. His thoughtful gesture made her view him as her Prince Charming.

In the second story, “Snowy Day,” a homeless father and son take refuge from the snow in a library. The librarian soon finds out there is more to them than meets the eye.

The third story, “Ametsukigahara,” is a two-parter about a girl named Akari. There’s not much she cares about in this world, except maybe her friendship with Fumika, who’s afraid of boys. But then Fumika gets a boyfriend, and something happens that makes Akari even more jaded than she already was.

Characters/ Players awaken in an unknown video game world. The world is very mystical and fantasy looking. Before anyone can figure out what is going on a portal appears and Lvl 40 monsters appear. They begin killing everyone and a stranger comes to their aid.

1) Odeko no Mahou

Tateoka Mori is your typical 17 year old high school brat. She often clashes with her sensei, the 25 year old Matsubara Masakazu. When she was swapping with her her nee chan, disguised, to attend a blind date party in her stead, she encounters none other than that sensei. As he failed to recognise her disguise, she hatched up an ingenious plan to prank him- by becoming his girlfriend!

However, because he gathered too many girls, there are 100 women in waiting. The story depicts the women spending their time talking amongst each other as they wait for their turn to meet the hero.

A collection of short stories. Note that the vast majority of these stories contain heterosexual romance themes. A few stories explore transgender issues, but it's a stretch to call them shounen-ai or BL romances. This series demographic is josei.
