I understand why she'd feel this way. She feels exposed and indebted. She put lord Roxanne (that's what I'll call him from now on) through so much, and he was helping her find her brother, and now offering her a solution to all of her problems and giving her words that put her at so much ease. She also spoke to him about her worries and wanting to get married to solve her problems. It's like he's doing everything because she simply mentioned it. Like she had to tell him and he now does it for her, and it just feels so unbalanced. He's not getting anything out of it. It's also hard to believe he likes her, because they haven't known each other for long (we will know about the past and that mysterious girl or not girl in the future).

And when you've been fighting for a long time, it's hard to accept that someone is offering you a solution if you just give in. Something similar to a soldier being told the war is over when he was just on the battlefield yesterday. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't feel like the fight is over.
