Oh god yeah, though i may have done a bit of that myself... cheesed something that the DM gave us. I also abused the cantrip "move earth", much to the annoyance of my DM... it was fun tho. As for limits, in a world with magical abilities the only limits are those you place on yourself. Cloning may be strong, but that doesn't everything else is weak. Hell, under the right conditions and with the right usage, any ability could dominate on a battlefield. You can freeze things? Have you considered testing the limits of what you can freeze? Maybe eventually you could even freeze time, or more realistically your opponents heart.

Let's say, over the span of 2 months, you lose every single person you have any emotional attachment to. How would you react? If you say anything besides horribly, you're probably lying. Either to me or yourself. From my own experience, the first thought when a friend or family member dies of unnatural causes is, "how could I have stopped it?" As for grief toppling nations, yeah it's happened. Given the length of human history it's pretty much guaranteed. Especially with how horrible depeession can be for one's decision making capabilities.
