I pity her because self-love and confidence don't come overnight; however, I like the steps she's taking.

Although I didn't particularly enjoy her personality, I must admit that I have a lot of respect for her for knowing what she wanted and sticking to it without second-guessing or remorse, in short I'm envious of such character and she's a tough person.
I regret that she abandoned her plans to pursue her studies. I can't say for sure but it's unfortunate and a waste. But be real, if she chose to stay for studies, the guy is out of picture. Because they're too broken to be together, she'll find her peer suitor, which is something I would prefer over this from a man's standpoint overall - father, brother or lover.
She's like a candle lit hidden under a bushel or not even lit with this man. This is just a personal point of view and I may be wrong.
Happiness is a personal definition matter; HOWEVER, occasionally, our own thoughts prove to be insufficient and foolish. Always consult your elders, and engage in civil discussions or open-talks with them.
Don't regret.
Her father is somehow at fault for bringing all the negative energy to the table during the confrontation. You should acknowledge your daughter whom you know best (sweat to raise daughters-too precious).

I never know why I took up medicine too—sibling's pressure and parents'
I'm similar to Kaoru today; I love my job very much. I'm blessed for the divine intervention in my life. Nothing is coincidence.

I truly favour old mangas; they are the ones portraying great fall and setback(s) in life, but teaching others that it's not the end of it, which is life. Life has many forks, and working out the fork you chose is your dedicated responsibility, and be happy and thankful for this heavenly given chance. Living is a gift, don't be deceived by the "cool" lies out there. But only those who can make lemonade out of lemons prevail.

Cat Street manga.

I forgotten. Declaring you're leaving for studies is equivalent to implying we're breaking up. What can powerless kids do compared to adults.

I understand what you're saying and the fear is real.
Two sides of the same coin. I can't justify my fear that way. And never wanting a rejection is an obsessive, self-centered viewpoint on love.
Fortune favours the bold.

This dispute is mainly due to the writer's poor writing or deliberate content delays. I understand that different individuals have different viewpoints, but he was quite deplorable in the last chapter. He's delaying the confessional portion as if he's not a man who can take rejection well. Gigo has many things he needs to work on which we could take from healthily

This manga scores almost the perfect score for me, it hits off as well as "Cat Street" for me. I'm glad I picked this up.

What a man Kaoru is. You don't hurt the girl you profess to love.
If you can feel like that; you're up for a fulfilled life (you can almost have no regrets in life).

Hirayasumi. Just my humble opinion, still missing the tiniest pinch of salt to be compared to Yotsuba, Aria the Masterpiece, Yokohama Kikou, or my personal favourite Usuzumi Hate

I resigned from my position as a paediatric registrar, I was one final step away from being a specialist. To be honest, if I had stayed in that field, I couldn't say with certainty that I wouldn't be able to say, "I'm glad to be alive." Life works on no matter what, but I chose to become a specialist out of peer pressure. I quit that job and now I'm working as a general practitioner, and with my extensive knowledge in children, I have something to offer to the community. Very much happier, less tied, perhaps less rich, but "I'm glad to be alive."

Cough and flu are the bread and butter of general practitioners, but Japanese don't visit GPs for that.

Money is important, but happiness is not dependent on it if you could define happiness like they did above.
