Asmophel is on par with Piaro if not stronger, but likely because of his actions(both his own and while controlled) and past, he seems to believe himself inferior to others. That somehow became a skill that makes him stronger the more he believes himself as worthless or so. In other words, the more he feels he needs to prove himself, the stronger he gets, or something like that is how the skill works

Man this manga has just kept reaching higher levels of peak each chapter :V

And I do get that, but yet I've somehow never gotten tired of characters like Saitama(though this recent arc with flashy and sonic has been kinda bleh, especially since it got remade)

Like at first I found this story and Cid hyped, especially when he just stumbled on the conspiracy of the Cult by pure bullshitting. But as it went on he NEVER learns or changes in any sort of way, which is boring, especially when we as readers already know there's basically nothing in this world that can be any sort of threat to him. Like if you compared the Cid at the start of this manga to the Cid in this chapter, there is basically no difference at all.

But I'm sure you and others are tired of listening to me drivel on about this, so I'll make this the last comment for now
