🤣 you don’t know much about war in those times. You know, when women were considered the spoils of war. They’d go raid a village raping the women and children of their enemies along the way. An outfit that never takes over a town is a failed outfit. Means they’ve never expanded the territory of their king.

That’s why it’s best to try to kill those who spotted the scouts before they can make a report. Then you’d make it look like a predator like a bear or panther got them. If it fools them, awesome. If not, then at least you reduced their numbers while you had the opportunity.

It’s still a failed scouting mission. A successful scouting mission is one where you see the enemy, figure out their strengths number and encampment then return unnoticed. If the enemy finds out they’ve been spotted then most of the intel will be incorrect. They’ll change their encampment, ask for reinforcements, split up esc. Shoot, they may even choose to retreat, and try for another day when there’s no scouts.
