There was someone I was friends with that was kinda like this. Had a similar vibe as this, she was super cute, I felt like I was just a side character, same kinda stuff. Rejected after friends and having the crush for 4 years. It broke my heart, but it wasn’t wrong for her to reject me and it wasn’t wrong for me too feel like that. But it cured the “I’m just a side character” feeling, now it’s just turned into a “fck it” feeling. Becoming more and more fck it, I only live once. Got a co worker’s insta a few days ago because we shared an interest in books, she gave a few recommendations, I sent a message, she sent one, I send another, left on sent for 2 days, so idgaf anymore. Been through it enough, more times than I can be bothered counting. Friends and people I had crushes on as often as each. Life goes on, therefore I go on without. Funny how just one year can change someone so much. It killed me scared to talk to people I didn’t know, but it’s getting easier and easier the more I do it.
