In a single parent family, the father has to work extra hard to support his daughter Akari. When her father leaves on a business trip, a strange lady coming from nowhere suddenly shows up in her bed next day morning and she will live together with Akira for a month. Who is this lady and what chemistry will happen between them?

The resulting chaos devastated Japans populations as 70 percent perished, forcing the international community to cut off Japan from the rest of the world.

Winter's Tale (Fuyu no Monogatari):
In the late 19th century England, Grace King was the daughter of a declined Marquis and also the mistress of Count Arthur Roland. After her mysterious death, her sons Linus and Lawrence were taken under custody of their father Earl Roland, who has a sick wife Anna and other children. Linus deeply suspects that the Roland family was involved in the death of his mother and thus begins his lonely investigation.

Spring's Paean (Haru no Sanka):
Rachel Brennan was hired by the Roland family as the governess for the children. The children, except the second son William, gradually began to like her. Will William also open up to Rachel too with her efforts?

Masako just lost her mom. While walking around looking for new specimens for her hobby, she comes across what appears to be an unconscious merboy. As she approaches him, he calls out to her: "Mother..." She resolves to take care of him and brought him home. A coming-of-age story.

The story could basically be split into two halves. The main story is about Tamai Shiina, who is an energetic middle-school teenage girl. She visits her grandparent's over the summer where she runs into a very strange creature. Shiina has had lots of strange dreams as of late and also when she was younger, and this strange creature is somewhat related to her visions. She names the small cuddly star-shaped creature, Hoshimaru.

Little did she know that this cuddly creature is really part of herself. After her vacation, Shiina goes back to her home, living with her father. She runs into other children with similar creatures the following days. However, these children have developed their creatures, and they have complete control over them. They mostly use these creatures for their own destructive pleasure and not for good. There is a group of teenagers that all have these strange creatures, and they plan to basically conquer the world, creating a utopia of whatever they desire. Will they succeed? Will Shiina ever develop Hoshimaru?

When Evangeline is questioning Yoshino at gun-point, Mahiro comes out of nowhere and swiftly saves him and can stop bullets in mid-air, claiming to have a deal with a sorceress; not just any, but the strongest sorceress, Hakaze Kusaribe, who promised to help find his family's killer with her magic so he can kill the killer himself.

After saving Yoshino, Mahiro informs him about the epidemic, a curse that turns living things into metal, claiming the Kusaribe clan plans to revive the Tree of Zetsuen that could destroy the world.
