Then after getting abandoned, the god says "plz help us" when they're in danger?

The thing is, this is a public project that is meant to last for time, so it would be counter productive to depend solely on MC to upkeep this, and it's both ways, cus MC would need to be tied to it to even operate it which of course wouldn't be, if it were a personal private project, it wouldn't matter if the maintenance wasn't upkeep but if it's meant to be used by many, this becomes an actual issue, of course they recognize the importance of this, but also know that if it's not feasible, they can't invest properly and expect actual returns
