  We never got to know WHAT WAS THEIR situation at their side, maybe they couldn't help BECAUSE they had to deal with their own issues....
  but even if THEY COULD, they ARE NOT OBLIGED TO O SO nor FORCED TO BE the supposed OMNIPOTENT FORCE Humanity in this world holds them as (just Like you don't expect Superman to be capable of STOPPING 100% OF ALL WRONGDOINGS ON EARTH).
  What if they just couldn't bother helping? In the end, THE GUILTY PARTY DOESN'T CHANGE, the Royal family cause the death of spirits, whose suffering caused their souls to become binded to the royal Family as a curse of Grudge, and Said curse in the end IS TOO STRONG, possibly not even all great spirits together would be able to cleanse that much gruge stuck to their bloodline.
  You can't slap the Spirits as being in the Wrong with what we got.... end of day... it was the royal family being so stupidly desperate that led to them being unable to have spirit contracts

  Ain't spirit job usually to maintain the world mana or nature, something along that line, so human is more like a parasite that destroying the world balance, so it's not even weird if the spirit actually go to massacre human...

    Humans are parasites but giant hordes of monsters that consume everything in their path aren't? I mean, how much do you think the average monster eats in order to keep those massive bodies functioning, and they exist in traveling packs of thousands. They are like 20 foot tall locusts.
    
    The royal family killed like a dozen spirits and the land gets an eternal curse. The spirits create monsters that threaten humanity's existence, and still expect mankind to kiss their feet.
    
    The gods are just dicks who don't care about anyone but themselves. It's even shown in this chapter by the spirits all loudly saying that they don't care about what happens to humans. When the cousin gets kidnapped, the tiger openly admits to not giving a shit.
    
    Humans are expected to worship the spirits even though the spirits don't give any value to their lives. How is that fair?

      ....the spirit don't created any monster tho? Or more like is there even any monster in this series? Cuz so far I don't remember there is any monster shown at all
      And the benefit of spirit to humanity is clear as day, humans borrow the power of spirit to use magic, that's why the royal family who is cursed by spirits can't use magic
      And spirit also maintain the world to be a liveable environment, spirits is more like a caretaker of the planet, that it's self is a huge benefit for human
      
      And in this series it's clear that spirits in general don't really care much about human cuz to be fair aint human just another animal that live inside the planet?
      Just like cat, dog, bunny etc, why would they give only human special treatment then?
      and the biggest reason why they cursed the royal family is for a warning to other human to not make the same mistake, if spirits gone cuz they all got killed nobody can control the world mana and it's will be a disaster

  Spirits and humans are not equal in value. It's a mistake to assume all lives are valuable to every entities.
  
  A single spirit could have the same cost as 1 million humans in their eyes.
