Oh, I do like the small character details this mangaka gives... like the Paladin actually having to jump into water to reset himself back to his goofy self.

But yeah, when the manga wants to be dark, it really gives goosebumps, dont it?

For me it sounds more like it was either severely misunderstood, only half told or intentionally misrepresented and twisted with (semi-)malicious intent. Wouldn't be surprised either if it turns out the prophecy is 10 years old, the sealing already fulfilled, with her seperation from her family and the 10 years of abuse being the price for a powerup we have yet to find out that it is to be percieved as a powerup and not part of her initial abilities and that whatever big bad evil org that is behind the attempts on her life is also responsible for that prophecy to resurface now to make it so she can't intervene with the actual catastrophe that's about to happen soon and not in 10 years like the mistimed prophecy would suggest.

I was right to be glad about it.

The story is a relatively common "MC was a shitbag, regressed, is trying to do right because he isn't a shitbag anymore" one, but the fight scenes are top-notch. If you've studied HEMA and looked at actual swords they used as well as recreations today, you can see a lot of similarities with many of the fight scenes in the manhwa. It's one of the few comics in general that aren't specifically about realistic historical swordplay that captures it so well I'd recommend reading just on that alone.

Okay, I'm being too dismissive of everything else; the characters do have depth for the most part and are living in that world as well, but the bulk of the characterization is still focused on the MC so it's harder to see it unless he isn't in the picture (which is pretty hard for some characters like the maid and some of the mercs). The story itself isn't particularly bad right now, the themes of deciding your future and whatnot are still enjoyable as well, and the setting itself is a slightly more low-fantasy one (not that low of a fantasy but there aren't many fireballs being slung yet, though the next arc will probably amend that).
