Takes place a few years after the first Ghost In The Shell manga. The Major has been missing since then, and Ghost in the Shell 2 follows the mysterious Motoko Aramaki as she runs an investigation into an incident at an organ factory and its consequences. She's on the run to clean up the mess and save herself in the process. Meanwhile, the former members of section 9 investigate Motoko to find out who she really is.

An astronaut sent on a space mission promises his wife and child that he will come back to them.

Kim Jumi's life is like that of any other teenager preparing for her CSAT's: all work and no play. But one summer day, she witnesses something on the rooftop of her school... From then on, she finds herself getting tangled up with two boys who are in a complicated relationship.

Three students are living fairly normal lives when, one day, they are overcome with intense stomach pain and a star symbol appears like a tattoo on their skin. With the symbol came supernatural powers, as well as enemies coming to kill them.

As more and more people develop similar supernatural powers, the story starts to turn into a Battle Royalesque bloody playground, only with an entire city as the setting and many innocents caught in the crossfire.

Among other themes, the story asks the question, "When is it alright to kill?" and delves deep into the darkness of the human psyche.

Trepanation is the procedure of drilling a hole in the skull. It is said to increase the blood circulation and improve pressure inside the skull. It is also said to bring out a person's sixth sense, the ability to use ESP, see ghosts, move objects with one's mind. This is speculative fiction based on the concept of trepanation.
