16 Magical Girls have been chosen to participate in the Magical Girl Raising Project by an unknown person and this time, there's prize money involved. Every three days, their Magical Phones will pull them into an RPG-like simulation where they have to clear the game to get out!

Magical Girl Raising Project (Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku) is a wildly popular social network game that allows a 1 in 10 000 chance for its players to become real magical girls, regardless of gender. Those who are chosen must then gather "magical candy" by helping people in order to rank at the top. While some see this as a chance to genuinely do good, the structure of the game is such that anyone can become a magical girl provided they "have the appropriate motivation." Soon, the players begin to discover that this motivation may be good or bad, and that when push comes to shove the ideal of a pure-hearted, all-loving magical girl gets thrown out the window as the darkness of the human heart begins to dominate the game.

Trapped between two sides The Resistance, or The Land of Magic? Rumors have spread of a Magical Girl with the ability to cancel death. To confirm these rumors, the Land of Magic sends two Magical Girls to investigate. What they found instead was a large dome-like barrier. Inside were a group of Magical Girls, calling themselves The Resistance. They claim to fight against what they believe is the corrupted regime of the Land of Magic. As the Land of Magic loses contact with their two agents, tensions escalate as both sides are locked in a clash within F-City.
