Poor Sanji, this is karma for all the womanizing. Mr Okama would love it there. Hopefully Frankie and Nami at least get to learn cool things on their island.
Communist Bugs BunnyAm I the only one who noticed that the manga has a hint of oldschool artstyle? Idk, maybe it's just me. Anyways, gotta respect the man for his dedication to skewers.
Not ImportantHigh key hate when people don't use their brains. Antagonistic forces in a B and C string plot are the meat & potatoes of a drawn out saga. You can't have a good saga without various smaller plots that show the growth & development of supporting and even minor characters.
She didn't develop. She just gets over her antagonism in the span of a few page panels after spending several chapters entirely off-screen and out of mind. Meanwhile, MC got a whole arc out of having determination and the will to confront his demons (pun not intended) beaten into him over a dozen or so chapters. Were she important to the story, she should have gotten WAY more progressive development over the last few.
And somehow you all are satisfied with these subpar results.
Not ImportantThe author failed to take it seriously. Go through the previous five chapters and look for the parts where you see her development happen. She's gored and maimed, then spends four chapters effectively in the same huddled corner of the building while MC flipped personalities entirely.
Juxtapose that over her earlier presentations. Vibrant, firm, standing even when danger is afoot, upbeat despite the severity of the world, heartfelt and passionate even in the face of her loved one COMPLETELY giving up and seeking his own death instead of having it hoisted on him from monsters. You quickly realize that they are two separate characters instead of being the result of a character hitting an antagonizing wall in their journey.
Take careful note of how she didn't even come out of that journey in any meaningful manner. It was quick, without real prompt, and with no weight of tension given how blase MC is acting over planning to kill the boss while basically carrying her.
