Well are you asian my boy? It's pretty common in asian countries where most of the parents force their child to focus on studies rather than other co curricular activities.... They'll support you for a little but won't let you set those things as priority higher than studies.
And when it's korea we're talking about... All the things you're seeing here is pretty much relatable. These things actually happens irl.
