Now this was a smart move on the HK’s president part. Money, influence and position aren’t important to a potentially vital asset? Determine what does matter, usually it’s relationships. Although such moves are extremely beneficial if handled right, they also are hard to pull off. A cagey employee who’s divided his life, becoming more involved without his knowledge in what he considers precious holds a massive risk of backfiring. If things aren’t dangerous enough for Iljin’s grandfather friendships like this can often be seen as vulnerabilities, or expose the less guarded party to greater danger. Likewise, it may seem invasive. If it works out well though, then it’s a huge benefit. When you get to a level of the HK CEO (and likely board chairman) then you’ll find yourself surrounded by people who are either looking for an edge or gain in any interaction or can be classified on a scale from bastard to absolute bastard. Such a relationship is humanizing. While, there are benefits from just goong to meet him, it might not have hurt to give Iljin the heads up first. Although I doubt that would have factored into his calculations. The case is just too abnormal and behavior patterns of take action first snd deal with consequences later are too set in stone. Whatever, he’s actually done, the head if HK actually seems far too kind, considerate, which makes this interaction seem less like a calculated manipulation and more like a genuine attempt (as I’m sure it’s intended).

Well good for Granps taking it in stride, that man has iron in veins. Honestly, for one of the few “normal” characters in this work, he may also be one of the most impressive. Dude’s as tough as they come. This relationship could actually prove to be a surprisingly equal exchamge.
