If I had a nickel for every time an unexpected lightsaber appeared in a manhwa in the past week, I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. The other Manhwa is Genius of the Unique Lineage.

why everyone go with excalibur as a name for a holy sword... Arondight or Chunchunmaru are so terrible as names? okay that "excalibur" is probably one of the most know name for weapons that exist but there is a limit to that

honestly makes sense he cut himself, even with all his training. If its just a legally distinct lightsaber, then the blade should be weightless/near weightless and made purely of energy. it would quickly cut through most normal objects, including the human body, with barely any force.
