  I don’t think the intention is to attack her, but to break the barrier around her so he can have a short talk, I assume the barrier would start to heal shortly.
  Remember that since the martial god or whatever didn’t sponsor him, he thought that the shadow queen may be able to do it.

To be honest that 'arrow' is kind of a bad weapon so using it and losing it would be fine. It's an arrow made specifically for a bow, its not gonna ever be as good a javelin or spear only acceptable.

Also, classic cliché American thrown in. Acts all prideful and insults mc only to get his ass handed to him a couple pages later. It's so cliché I'm yawning.
