  It really isn't relevant for the story. If you rewrote it to an orphan story were he finds a bible of mother and some divine guidance, that would make the story even better.

    Imo the isekai was used to skip parts like his upbringing, family, and moments like these where he would be surprised at everything

      The artist is really good. I think he could have handled that in 2 pages. The first meeting with mother and a training montage would be worth 2-3 chapters.
      I can sketch you the first 10 panels like nothing: orphan boy wants to become a priest. Trains! Gets backstabbed. Body get dumped into old underground temple. Gets saved by mother. Find cheat sheet walk through bible. Appoints himself high priest. Gets powerup! Get going!
      Him just looting small churches and killing small town criminal priest would be worth 5 chapter wait.
