  He already explained it before. He's reciting long spell chants. It's what makes him sleepy. Literally anyone could do it and recite long-ass chants to make him sleep, what Lloyd is doing isn't particularly special or anything.
  Listening to long spell incantations makes Javier sleepy, and Lloyd knew of that because he read it in the novel this story is set in.
