  at least this manga is self conscious which imo makes it fine and even a little bit funny. It is generic but tbh you should've expected generic things from an isekai with a "overpowered MC" tag

Are you kiddin' me? Another isekai I have to add to my list. I kinda like it but I wonder how the story is gonna progress. It doesn't seems like there is some kind of goal to archieve unless you count becoming a master of magic.

  What is the problem with having mastering magic as the main goal? Its not like every isekai has a big goal like saving the world, killing the maou or eradicating evil. There are isekai about spreading medicinal knowledge, improving food quality, cleaning, living peacefully in the countryside, or even as simple as wanting to make a book. As long it is interresting the goal don't really matter.

    The difference of not having a goal is that those isekai mangas without a big goal don't tend to stick around for long.

      Say that to isekai nonbiri nouka, tsuki ga michibiku isekai douchuu, the new gate, kuro no shoukanshi, kuma kuma bear, tondemo skill de isekai hourou meshi, kamitachi ni hirowareta otoko and death march kara hajimaru isekai kyuosoukyoku because in neither of these the MC has any big goal in mind but the manga so far has been amazing and most of them are 20 chap+ and going strong.

        Most of these do have a bigger goal than the initial goal: It's just most of them don't establish it in the first few chapters. Some of them go with the route of leisure life but they still get dragged into some kind of conflict along the way.
        
        "tsuki ga michibiku isekai douchuu" does go with the hero against evil trope but the mc is abandoned in the first chapter. Has to use his skill to survive but ultimately wants to go back home as his goal.
        
        "new gate" is pretty much mc trying to find out why he is stuck in this world but also wants to go home.

        Mastering magic "could" be a HUGE goal, and like you said, some just don't establish a huge goal in the first few chapters. Like seriously, did we think lelouch would take over the world in the first few chapters? No. Did Naruto take over the world? No. He just wanted to be hokage. The chief of some back-ally ninja village, it wasn't even the strongest ninja village. And look, we even get shitty AF manga/novel/anime that literally have a MC who's sole goal is to be the master of a harem, yet for some-reason these shitty AF manga/novel/anime's are still going strong. But if your talking about the best of the best (not isekai), then yea your right. No manga/novel/anime is going to last more than 1000 chapters with a small minded goal. Kochikame only lasted for 914 chapters (manga). Nothing big, didn't even hit 4 digits.

        only thing from jump can hit those number since they came weekly
        1000 chapter is 1000 weeks for them it is about 250 months or 20 years...
        do you think there will not be change in genre popularity on that time??
        
        what about monthly manga?
        do u want to wait 1000 months to see some manga complete?
        That freaking 83 years...
        I think If it even hit 50+ it is good enough to be manga cuz it take 50+ month to do that...
