putting aside the fact that's some of the most privileged line of thinking i've ever heard in my entire life

the only one being stupid is u. but if u insist to be an insensitive jerk speaking right out of your ass let me approach u with some reading comprehension, which u obviously lack

1. ruby is unable to " change the story" as u say any more than she already does. this manhwa is different than the average villainess transmigration ones we see in the way that it's much more realistic about ruby's position. what exactly can she do? she is completely alone and deeply mistrusted by everybody, she has almost no funds apart than what she can get from the omertas, which she has to be careful with because any sign of apparent greed would only sour her reputation even more, which is going to be dangerous in the event that the borgias find another way to poison ellen, negating any steps she takes to establish herself in britannia. she is already in contact with all the relevant characters, working hard to act opposite to the actions of the original rudbeckia, which is the first and most important step. she has no close associates she could confide in, she was sent alone without even one maid, and even if she had they would have been cesar's spies and done her more harm than good. her family has influence when is comes to religion, but she can't find allies within the church either because they are an even more danger to her due to cesar once again. she might be respected as the daughter of the pope but she doesn't have any influence of her own as she was always on a short leash. she also doesn't know anything about the country she is in and also doesn't have the freedom of just walking around. little is mentioned of the original story, which tells us that she either doesn't remember it that well (completely realistic) or it focused so much on the conflict between ruby and ellen, freya and isec that it doesn't contain any relevant situation outside of them (let's not forget that ruby is not the original mc)

2. this is not death is the only ending for the villain with the way penny had the power to toss her name and money around in her quest, nor a villainess reverses the hourglass in it's quest for revenge. this one is explicitly about overcoming childhood trauma and exploring the impact of mental illness to both the ones who suffer from it and the ppl around them. the importance put on these ideas it's easy to see from the very first panels, and grows more as we learn the extent of ruby's abuse and we are introduced to the story of the late duchess who becomes a foil for ruby and a crucial character for ellen and isec. so really, if u had an ounce of critical thinking skills u would realise that ruby "getting over her trauma" would actually ruin the whole story and throw out the window the narrative already laid out by the author
