When I started reading this chapter, I was expecting people to slam it because it's similar to Solo Leveling... even though Solo Leveling wasn't the first story ever to use that set-up.

While I half agree with the negativity in the comments, I also hesitate to ever join in because all the things they might reference (Like solo levelling for instance) are basically ass pulls in and of themselves imho. It's just all about execution at the end of the day. It's all about what's fun and good to read. Fantasy never makes sense. It's fantasy. It's based on rules that don't exist and make no sense. the only real issue here is that they overdid the threat to his life so that it feels a bit TOO much. That being said, it doesn't really ruin the story for me. It just makes this one chapter less good.

Now don't get me wrong, it could get EVEN worse from here on out but I was having fun with the story before this chapter so I'm not just gonna regurgitate negativity yet.
