I mean, he's sort of right, you wont leave an embarrassing history for your decendants, if you aren't able to have any.

Dumbasses, an attack on a trade city would be seen as a terrorist attack against humanity ifself. All dragonkin would be put to the sword as a threat to humanity

  They would rather have nobody they care about remembering them. They will still be humiliated as the dragons who didn't even make it out of the city the day they started a war that was already over...

This story has generally been good but I really dislike the authors social commentary or whatever. Each time the author tries it turns out dumb/bad/nonsensical.

The story is making this out like they are se;f justifying murder, it was self defense and defense of others, you did take out a terrible villain, a monster even! you knew at the time he was a terrible villain/monster. You didn't need a wanted poster to know that! You didn't need to walk the dark path or what ever after killing a monster in self defense. Though was the path they took even that dark? Beating up some stalker to keep them away from a woman they are harassing (if that was the case) in the example given, is hardly that dark. But maybe they did much worse to deserve a wanted poster, but the story just doesn't tell us.

Like I said in previous chapters, this is nonsense. Basically you are saying the amount is too suspicious to have come from a good source. Yet you saw no red flags when you kept selling kids to that monster for a fair amount of money, kids who were never seen again! You couldn't afford to hire a investigate but you could ask around and investigate yourself and talk to the "buyer" and see if their story makes sense as to why they are buying children. Especially as, the monster had a wanted poster up, that especially says some asking around would tell you, you are selling off children to a monster to be destroyed.

Equating say beating up a man to keep em away from a woman to selling children to something you should have easily found out was a monster, ludicrous. She apologized but still made it out like it was a "honest mistake" and dared to lecture Leo on the right path. It makes sense to forgive the orphanage master in a sense except I would worry that she might sell more children again , no questions asked, once money got low.

I'm guessing the orphanage was destroyed to steal the wealth given, but why was it necessary to destroy the orphanage and possibly kill the kids just to steal the money? Maybe the money should have been put in a bank and a guard could have been hired as well.
