This MC seems extremely naive, even stupid really.
The last time he left the other world, he was chased by a dragon(?).
Why he would ever go back without arming himself to the teeth? Even in this world, you don't want to go to a jungle or a national park (at least the ones in america), without a gun.
At least a bow/crossbow should be the very minimum, with some knives/machetes, and some pepper spray possibly.
A spear is also something you can make yourself.

  This is Japan. Where do you expect to get gun in this country without being either the police or yakuza?
  
  Owning a bow/crossbow requires special permit in Japan, something that he doesn't have the luxury of time to obtain, not to mention the necessary training to use the damn thing to any effective capacity. This is reality, not a video game where you can just "equip" a weapon and be able to effortlessly use it. To the untrained hands, those things are more of a burden than anything.
  And what do you expect a dingy pointy stick to do against a dragon? The last time he was chased by what is basically an oversized komodo, and damn thing was catching up to a vehicle going 70km/h.
  
  I will however concur on it being a mistake not bringing a knife or machete.

So it's not Kyara, and she either met a child slave or some halfling, either way, he seems too carefree. No knives or machetes to at least protect himself, no pepper spray either.
I wonder if it's the same world with different locations or maybe he's going to new unique worlds everytime...

Well I gathered there was more to it than just a near branding. Still she has access to the fancy school and learning high level magic to make her own future, and can make friends. It's sad if there is no parent figure to take care of her but saying to a teacher "You need to be like a parent to me or something" more than teacher student anyway and "I'll just let a demon take my body because you aren't being a parent to me and don't know what it's like to be me" It felt like a tantrum of a little kid (much younger than actual age) over some stupid selfish thing.

Bur I suppose it's her sub-conscious that might be to blame for some of it, lack of higher level thinking to realize what a stupid brat she was being?

Don't get me wrong, I bet she has a sad backstory that I would feel sympathy for. But not to the point where she just gives up her body to a demon.
