honestly thank you Izumo for being the only open minded to accepting the fact Rin is Satan kid, like can understand situation but come on when has there moment Rin put their lives in danger instead of saving them and that's why she best girl for me........ to me she has had most character growth out of all them, atleast to me. like it really pisses me off how they are acting and makes feels sad seeing how they rejecting him....
Ghost MarcusI have a in lore explanation and a more "meta" explanation:
-in lore is that he prefers to have a body that can't be harmed (he has iron skin now) compared to one that can be harmed but regenerates. It's also possible that he has planned to get essences that already cover regeneration\\immortality so there is no need to be redundant.
-meta explanation is that the author realized that the skill of the vampire essence was actually more busted than the immortality. He could steal strenght to all enemies around him to boost his own, that's actually crazy to play around so he decided to remove it and give the MC a more traditional offensive skill.

Also, yes. The man is a massive selfish, egotistical jerk, but he doesn't deserve to die. All jerks like him get humbled one day - akin to falling down. Pray that they fall down and hit dirt rather than asphalt. For what it is worth, the man didn't intend to kill anyone. Cause problems and harm? Yes. Is he stupid? Yes. Did he deserve the death penalty? No.
