The art is similar to that terrible "Wizard in the Murim World" story. It started off good but eventually became an inconsistent mess. Here's hoping this is better.

  True, i did like the art but that manhwa was so incredibly bad that it took me ages to actually finish reading it, it started really good just to then destroy everything it built until that point in favor of some cheap drama, which normally wouldn't be as bad of a thing, but that drama was just SO poorly written, it didn't make sense in the first place, but then they even proceeded to continuously contradict themselves, it became unreadable

    Exactly. So much of the drama was forced and nonsensical. Girls fighting each other over him for slight misunderstandings, entire factions going to war and killing each other over poor and obvious provocations. It was just bad.

      Yeah like, he could have just told the people it was misunderstanding and no war would have broken out, he even ran away from the mess he had caused just to then come back to cry over the dead bodies of the people that could have been easily saved by him, and the worst thing his that he even acted and was treated like a hero when he came back when all that mess was his fault in the first place

As a native professional asian, this my boys is why we never disrespect grand-parents, even at 100 they can still nunchaku your ass to lala land...
In fact you disrespecting them would be you courting death; you "taking a trip to the yellow river or to the west", you "having eyes but not seeing mount tai", sigh... just EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!

It’s ridiculous to say that most people don’t handle things in a healthy way in situations like that. She could’ve easily said, ‘I lost someone important to me—let me dedicate my life to becoming better. I can’t get over the death of him and my cousin, but I won’t make things worse for the people around me, especially those who rely on me to lead this kingdom.’

But she never thought like that. She acted out of desperation—and that desperation turned into stupidity. It got her master killed, led her to try forming a contract with a demon, only to find out that the person she’d been looking for was alive the whole time. Why? Because she failed. She failed to search for him properly. If she had looked for the barbarians—if she had even tried to track down the barbarian heir—maybe she would’ve found him.

Not everyone takes a dark turn over loss. And honestly, it’s a slap in the face to the main character. He went out of his way to save her, to preserve her life—and what does she do? She offers her life to a demon just because she’s desperate to see someone else alive. That’s not noble. That’s just stupid. No matter how you spin it, she made a dumb decision
