For Kikuchi. Though he will get his closure in future, he should not feel as like he is being taken advantage of because he was the right person at the right time to do those act of kindness even it may be primarily motivated by his affection for her.
I'm fortunate to have a great friend like Kikuchi, I once hated life and saw it as colourless, I'm not to a point I'l induce physical self harm but in a way I did, I didn't bother to try my best after the peak point of my life around 27 years old, everything just seems meaningless. But a bubbly friend came in, talked to me everyday for 5 years. The times you spend with someone can alter your perceptions of them romantically, but I was more moved by what she had done for me than by the love sentiments I have for her. (you can think of Naho's feelings for Suwa from Orange). Yea, I did went out with her but I ended up things when I really wanted to move on the next phase of life. Was it an inhumane decision? It's up for debate but I'm ready to take that flak forever. However, the memories I have of her are wonderful, she was indeed the right person at the breaking point of my life to pick me up, a great Samaritan.
