  haa... an absolutely garbage one at that. There need to be a global Agency / Cabal / Justice Force to stop these garbage time skips. It is just so freakin' rare that they are not terrible. It really feels like 1 in 10k are actually good, 1 in 5k are alright/meh, and the rest are at the bottom of an infinitely lopsided barrel that defies everything and is somehow 99% bottom cause the stuff that is good or not terrible exist as some legendary feat that has lean purely on being rounded up to qualify as the 1% - That rare.

    The author apparently lost motivation around the time he was writing this part in the novel (which was years ago) because he barely had any readers on the Japanese website he posted it on, and he was planning on ending it soon. He got enough overseas support to decide to keep it going, but the crappy timeskip is still there.

      Thanks for the knowledge on that. I would be a bit of an A-Hat if I said something like putting it on the title page(?)... front cover is probably the right term; I tend to skip them completely...
      
      The main reason it is such a letdown is how good it was before. Getting proper support is awesome though. Just never will never have faith for that kind of thing. It is right up there with the incorrect use/translation of 'in' and 'on'. There is a short list of things I will say I actually hate, those two are in a Demon's Death Match to try and claim first place when I remove things that actually affect people.

    Not a bad timeskip, do you really think we would be getting 5 years worth of chapters? It's not a big manga to write like that.

      It more about it giving the impression that nothing happens, when you know that at least something should have happened. It is the blackout style of it that, just does not really work well without a fair bit of forgiveness. On the other hand if the story does want to skip a large chunk of time and is given something akin to a highlight reel; that shows that thought has been given to them doing it, because we need some kind of prompt to understand the minds of others.
      
      Without being told or shown the possible reasons why or efforts taken, humans tend to assume the worst. For this story in particular I believe someone informed me that the author had IRL issue and was restarting the series with a time skip, that although perfectly reasonable does not do much for a person whom had no idea about those issue.
      
      Without a reason stated; Yes it was a bad time skip. it was a large chunk time just yeeted into the ether without obvious reason or foreshadowing.

This is so bad, I get that the author had issues writing during that time but holy moly this time skip is hot garbage. The whole thing undermines several plot points that have been building up the whole story. Just an example of something that could've been way cooler is Mc using the relationships he's made thus far to make his parents pay the price for the shit they've been doing instead of just letting them continue abusing the territory, use his connections to support the hero and his friends to keep up with the sped up villain stuff, retore his family's territory to stop the needless suffering from heavy taxes and abuse the citizens get from his parents, get the chivalric order to help stop the villains plans behind the scenes, and for a time skip make the Mc go on a personal side quest to obtain something that could be important only for things to go wrong and he can't make it back, thus allowing the time skip. What I said above is purely an example but I hope it shows just how horrible of a progression this is. And the worst part of all of this is that he did basically nothing but become the lapdog of the person he was supposed to be fighting for 5 years, he seemingly never tried to rebel or run away even though he is clearly shown to just be going around casually, instead it seems he was helping the enemy more than anything, this is super frustrating cause it really makes this time skip feel pointless. I'm personally dropping this series hard, seeing them adding a random pointless side character girl just pisses me off, instead of seeing what he maybe did over the time or what the others were busy with we are just going on a stupid side quest now. Hope it can recover, though I won't be reading anything past this cause this part is just that bad to me, but I do hope it becomes good again

Again, I disagree because we’re arguing two different points here. You said she could have said something when he broke up with her—true. But I’ve already pointed that out, and I still say that the fault lies with her, not him.

Later on, when Natsuki and Reina kept telling him, "Hey, you misunderstood things. She didn’t cheat on you. If you would just talk to her, you’d understand," those conversations happened after the breakup. So again, time had passed. When someone keeps bringing it up later, you have time to sit with it, think it over, and start questioning things. Maybe I did misunderstand. Maybe she wasn’t cheating. That’s a completely natural reaction.

And sure, again, she could have explained herself back then if she really wasn’t cheating, but she didn’t. So everything that’s happening now is happening after the breakup, right? If he kept running into her—or running into her best friend—and they kept saying the same thing, "Just talk to her, and you’ll understand," eventually, he’s going to want closure. And that’s exactly what happened. He gave her a chance to explain, and she ended up confirming his suspicions.

Trying to fault the MC—trying to fault Yuuta—for seeking closure after being bombarded like that makes no sense. You’re acting like, "Oh well, he could have just ignored her. If she didn’t say it right then and there, then there was no point." True, but I’ve also made that same point.

What you’re ignoring is that this conversation was bound to happen. The whole "You misunderstood things" argument kept coming up, so eventually, it was going to lead to them talking.

So yeah, I gotta disagree with you, man. You’re trying to fault the MC for simply listening to her. Could he have walked past her? Sure. Could he and Shinohara have just gone to the grocery store like they planned? Of course. But Yuuta’s not a disrespectful person. He gave her a chance to talk, she confirmed his suspicions, and he walked away.

Yuuta did everything right, and yet you’re still trying to blame him. At this point, it just doesn’t make sense.
