  Sounds too harsh. The father cares for her deeply after all. There are examples with him giving another noble family a mine to protect her. Maybe he is not perfect, but he is doing well.

TBH, while the incinerator may not destroy the mirror, it can be a good place to hide it, the heat, the ash and how weird it would be for Yvonne to check it out too, and she would think fist our girl hid it on herself or someplace she could access instead of throwing it and hiding it with the trash (where this hoe goddess belongs)

  I think it's more like; the dead can't speak. With Becky's death, she can't be questioned.. And, with her "suicide letter" declaring Yvonne innocent. Basically, she became the scape goat. Yvonne need not answer to any questions nor was she really "asked". She can also additionally act all sad and mopey and choose NOT to SPEAK, just cry cuz she lost someone dear~~
