In a way, he really isn't tied down. Just cause he's enjoying going with the flow someone else brings, doesn't mean he's being tied down. He's choosing the flow to follow along with. Basically, he has no particular goal, so he's just indulging in his freedom to choose the flow he feels like attaching himself to.
