Like I said, Light doesn't even know or heard of "C" , much less having an ANY idea whether he one or not. He first heard about it via from one of Kavaa's rant and it is until Miki (Chapter 158) mention about it again that he want more answers about it.

Heck, the Masters don't even know "Unlimited Gacha"-hence Miki's confusion and horror-and the ONLY reason why Light is a suspect to begin with was because of disappearance of the fist HALF of the 8 traitors from the former "Gathering of Races". Not helping a case that Team Hiro acknowledged the Fake Master Incident in the first place. Volos ONLY monologuing about "C" out of irritation about his evil partners' attitude that irritating him and he is planning to betray them in due time, even thought the "C" he found was actually a phony and it was beaten by Aoyuki in the Demon Kingdom Arc (both LN and WN). Speaking of Miki, she too also said about "C" not too long ago which only adding MORE question .

What we (somewhat) know for now is that "C" is a main reason why the Surface World is in a hot mess for a very long time. Specifically the rivalries between Masters from the two factions.

Prrobably a distant future and right now, only the WN explains about the "C" What if I tell you, I mean, what IF tell you that, min the most RECENT WN's recent arc, in a "C" is FINALLY revealed and it is a she. ANDROID Human she, BTW. Codenamed "C.U" , reported by an AI, BTW. And she REALLY displeased how the "Scenario" that doesn't go according to her design and paln to use the remaining Masters to deliminate Light annd LVL9999 ladies.

The problem is good people believe in honor and fairness while bullies/criminals don't. Let me use you as an example, let's say you rush in trying to help, that bullies friends most likely will flank you and the distraction is such that more than one of them will assault you. Bullies tend to also move in "packs" so you're not going to get to isolate and go one on one with them in most cases which requires help but they usually cow down the others in the class that they'll be too afraid to help you do this even though it would be to their benefit.

Most people would rather tolerate some humiliation and being bullied vs the risk stopping it permanently, and in some cases when the person risks trying to stop it permanently it goes sideways because ironically this is when the principal, teachers, etc interfere when it's way too late.
