As far as i remember, Revenge in Occident it’s a bad thing, a hateful thing, a sin, because you are forced to forget and forgive in order to not be punished, and this chain over human will, was mainly created and maintained by those who most probably, will be the receivers of the vengeful actions, Meanwhile in oriental culture, and also in real american cultures, Revenge is the only correct path in order to bring back balance and some sort of justice.
I love how this author, instead of idiotic Michael Bay style of just idiotic action for the sake of idiotic action, brings an inner search about what being human is supposed to mean, a search that many in this “modern” world are not even able to comprehend how to start.

So that kaiju parasite is basically like the will of people who have died due to kaiju or something like that!?

So the grudges and regrets of people got collected kinda like curses from jjk and transformed into a parasite, at least it's a logical explanation that makes sense for how the parasite came to be but still left some unanswered questions about monster #9, hopefully we get them in the next chapters.
