If you have problems sleeping in the winter and you've never done this, don't use electric blankets nor mattress pads, hold up your sheets/blanket some then blow a hair dryer for about 30 seconds before crawling into bed, it'll knock you into sleep within minutes in most cases. I think it's weird (or it may just be me) that I like a cool bed in the summer and a warm bed in the winter, this trick works for most people.
