  Im even more confused why I have to sit here reading about the past of 2 nothing characterless when we havent seen the mcs past or any of his friends. This honetly feels like the most useless flashback chapter I have read. There is so much more to tackle in the world for the mc in the present time so this seems like a needless and poorly done pace change.

usually having a whole ass flashback arc is done in a story's downtime, not with a dozen plot threads still on going

i don't even know what the flashback's trying to convey here

why don't you put the flashback after we know MC is fully recovered, thats' just too many clifhanger for 1 ch
1. mc's condition
2. town condition after the attack
3. that guy who got injured is he alive or not
4. and now this flashback

I made a similar list back in chapter 4 forgot the Kaiju, I'd scale it high tier between the aliens and the huge world tree because I believe that they can if they really wanted too against the Kaiju take them out in orbit out of the range of the Kaiju (sort of like the meteor wiping out the dinosaurs...):

I won't ruin this for others but the above is my speculation, I don't have any advanced knowledge and this is how I rank these "natural predators" without prior knowledge and it'll be interesting how my theory holds/fails:

Tier Alpha: 1 Mad God's (it manifested due to human's faith. An exalted god), 2 Misfortune (calamities), 3 Cursed Destruction (environmental disaster/deterioration),

High Tier: 4 Machine Rule (Artificial Intelligence), 5 Cosmic Devil (aliens), 6 Huge Tree (World Tree/life force sucking), 7 Magic Forces (Demons), 8 Parasite,

Low Tier: 9 Wild Green (untamed wilderness), 10 Giant, 11 Neo-cruelty (bio-engineered/eugenics)

Additional victims: 12 Recreation Hell (games are everything, don't return soon... there will be a penalty), 13 Lawless (lawless bandits)
